Tristan 11 - 12 months

T man turned 11 months on May 9. Since he's almost one year now, I'm going to include is developments from 10 months to now (almost 12 months), since it's all a blur anyway!

Tristan now has 2 teeth, still eats baby food and formula for 90% of his diet. As he is crawling more, he's discovering more and doesn't want to take time to drink milk or sleep - he'd rather be discovering. He does take nap(s), but they're not always consistent; I can usually count on an afternoon nap, but the duration varies from 30 minutes to 2.5 hours. Funny enough, he sleeps better at Keri's house when he goes there Wednesday afternoons! Sometimes for 3+ hours!

Though he likes to be crawling around and into things, he's not too mischievous. He doesn't put everything in his mouth. He mainly likes to look into the cupboards, suck on the syrup bottle top, pull things out, and tries to play with the girls and their blocks and kitchen toys (much to their chagrin sometimes). Avery is good at trying to give him alternative toys.

The funniest thing about Tristan is he likes to do the BOOGIE WOOGIE! Basically whenever he hears music or a beat, he starts shimmy-ing or dancing! So fun! His words consist of "Yeah!" and "Da-da" Though he likes to explore, he is still very cuddly (likes being held by mom and doesn't insist on getting down). :)

Yesterday, Tristan learned how to pull up all by himself and climb all the way to the top of the stairs! (see pictures)

Avery is FIVE!

Avery turned 5 on Feb. 19. She loves her new watch and we have even tried out the new tag-along bike (one that hooks to an adult bike)! I also landed her a nice used girls bike that will fit her for the next few years. Looking forward to the weather warming up!

We got her kindergarten shots and it was not very pretty. She's normally very brave and calm, but this time she curled up in the corner and screamed and fought when it was time for shots. (Yeah, not normal for sweet Avery... her friends must have told her what an awful experience it would be). She made it through but was ache-y the rest of the day.

Avery is doing well in preschool and music class. We practice her music every day now and it makes a big difference. For preschool, she already knows all her letters and sounds; we're now working on sight words at home.
