Wish you were here

I wish you could be here to see how darling these kids are. I could have 5 million each of Avery and Aspen. They're just so lovable and everything they do/say and all their expressions are priceless. I smother Aspen like nobody's business and I didn't think I was the smothering type. Good things she takes it well. :) Avery is just ridiculously sweet and her laugh is the best thing on earth.

I love my babes!!! geee.

What a treasure it is to be their mom. I know I am so blessed. I can't believe I'm already getting sad for them growing up... sheessh.. I'm only on #2!

One Day

Avery is dang cute.

She commences to read me her books. Each page starts with "One day..." and she explains what's going on in the pictures. What a great kid.

The other day I caught her singing the chorus to "I am a child of God;" that's pretty darling coming from a 2 yr old. She likes to sing, but if she catches me singing in the kitchen, she'll often tell me to stop. haha.

We took a walk one evening and I tell her we're about to be home to see daddy and she says "I lov 'im, I lov daddy." wow.

I love it when she does something and observes, "I do/wear/have _____ like mommy!" or visa-versa when she says "You ____ like me!"

We have a friend, Orlando, who comes over and is great with the kids. One night Avery getting tucked in bed asks, "where my daddy?" then "where my 'lando?" :)

Avery lives for being with friends! Everyone is friends. She often asks: "when my fiends coming over?" "where my fiends go?" "we go to fiend's house?" She also knows and remembers most of them by name.

At lunch, I try to get Aspen to look at me so I can feed her. Avery draws her attention by speaking very authoritatively, "Apen. Apen. Look a' me. Look a' me, Apen." she looks. "Look a' mommy." What a helpful child.

Today we played make-believe in the yard. I had to muster up the energy and imagination (remember when this was the stuff we lived for?). I've been trying to interact with her more and sometimes I wonder where on earth she gets her energy! At nap time I needed one, but she was going strong, so I took a nap and she read to me ... and crawled all over me ... so, my nap wasn't really a nap. haha, it was a nice try.

Almost There

About a week ago, I noticed how Aspen has matured a lot - no longer does she merely observe everything, but she is really trying to pursue everything! Consequently, she wants to get around more and is trying harder to learn to crawl. She's getting there!

Love that forlorn look - the keys are just out of reach!

I love my BABY!!

Avery sporting her new computer skills. She is very competent with the mouse and her online learning games. Yay!

Aspen 8 months

Aspen is a cute gal. She's very confident sitting by herself, and is getting much closer to crawling as of late. Watching us crawl for her has gotten her more excited. She's just a really fun baby!

So funny... I love my kiddos!

Look at that super cute hat... it reminds me of a time I took these...
