Here's Brian entertaining Avery (or being entertained... one or the other!). It's pretty funny how her mouth opens big whenever she's in the air... it looks like a reflex. Funny, funny.

Three months old
Avery is a sweetie and we love her to death (I think dad is enjoying her interacting more). She is still sleeping at night in increments of 1.5 to 3.5 hours at best, but I wonder if the eczema has anything to do with that or maybe it's just her appetite. I'm reading Hatchet right now (per Brian's suggestion) so I'm not just watching T.V. all night long as I'm up feeding her. It's a nice change. I'll be done with the book soon, though, and I might start Eragon.

First Bike ride!
Today we took Avery on her first bike ride! We went to Provo Canyon and did a 7.5 mile paved bike ride round trip. It was very beautiful in the mountains! I've been itching to get out on the bike and we thought Avery might do alright in this carrier; she was such a sport! I am SO happy for the summer time!!!!!

Flirts with angels
Maybe a lot of babies are like this, but I've noticed ever since Avery was born that she'll stare off into space or at a blank wall and just start smiling like crazy and "goo"-ing. She often does her cutest smiles at this time when it looks like she's flirting with her eyes. I've come to believe that those must be the times when she's being entertained by the silent angels all around us. Now, I don't know much about angels, but what else could explain this? I mean, what angels wouldn't want to play with a such a cute little baby? I often wonder what those little eyes can see that I can't or what she can remember that I can't. I think that's what makes babies so special. This morning I told Brian my little thought and he said, "I think you should tell the angels to flirt with her more often." hehe

Photo Booth Madness!

Johnny Bravo? How suave'

I love the deer antlers and bear skin in the background; it just brings this picture to a whole new level! (This is Brian, by the way)

Look, it's Peewee!

Hmmm.... interesting....

Yikes! Sorry you have to wake up with this every morning, dear!

Buck-tooth papa! And look at those bushy brows! Love you, dad.

Can you name that cartoon character??

Okay, this is my absolute FAVORITE! Creepy, dad, creepy!

Our little "Rocket Pooper"
Avery has a bit of a reputation; she has explosive poops that usually shoot straight up her back. When she was younger, she'd sometimes rocket the poop across the changing table as I was trying to change her diaper (it's a good thing it comes out of carpet!). This picture is a lovely example from today (sorry if it grosses you out). The poop spread across her back when I laid her on the changing table. That's our little rocket pooper! My, oh my.

Mother's & Father's Day
Happy Mother's Day!
A week ago, Brian and I were strolling around the mall and saw the game, "Bang" at a game store. This game has been on our wish list for a while so he decided to buy it for me for mother's day! We've already put it to good use with friends!

Happy Father's Day! (early)
Yesterday we got a flyer in the mail advertising a 2 for 1 special at the Utah college of Massage Therapy nearby. Heck yeah! Brian and I each got an hour massage for $25 total. I've always wanted a professional massage and here was our chance! Brian really enjoyed his massage (which I was glad because it was his gift!) and so did I. It was a very relaxing full body experience.

Bungee
I'm starting to love making these little videos. You'll probably see them often. Here's Avery her first time in one of those bungee bouncers. Yeah, she's a little young at 2 and a half months to be trying a 4-month old gadget, but she can hold her head up rather well and I've got her under constant supervision in this thing. She really loves it! We knew she would.
Discovery
I've been reading this book called, "Parents are teachers, too" by Claudia Jones. I love all the ideas on how to help your child develop skills for learning & reading and encouraging their curiosity and self expression. She also covers things like teaching language, math, and helping to develop muscles. She's got lots of ideas on activities/projects to expand your child's mind and open up their world! I'm so excited to take Avery on lots of field trips when she's older and watch her discover all these new and wonderful things around us! I can't wait to help her explore nature and learn new words and talents. We'll have fun coloring at home and making food and planting a garden and playing with play dough and blocks and trying new experiments and crafts. Wow! I don't think I looked forward to this stuff this much when I was a kid! I can imagine how exciting it will be to see her eyes light up in understanding or see her learn how to kick a ball. This helps me appreciate all the time I get to spend with my girl. I never thought I'd want this type of thing more than I want other things for myself. Talk about a parental transformation.
